(Genesis 37:1-11)
“Beloved, have you ever carried a dream so vivid, so powerful, that you knew deep in your soul it was from God? A dream that burned within you, a glimpse of something greater—something beyond where you are today? Joseph had such dreams. But let me tell you, church, not everyone will celebrate what God has placed inside of you. Some will resent it. Some will reject it. Some will even try to destroy it. But hear me: if God has called you, His plan will prevail!
Let’s step into the Word. Genesis 37 introduces us to Joseph, a young man of seventeen, the favored son of Jacob. Now, favor has a price—because when God marks you, the enemy notices. Joseph’s brothers saw their father’s love for him and despised him. And then came the dreams!
Joseph dreamt of sheaves in the field, all bowing down to his. He dreamt again, of the sun, the moon, and eleven stars bowing before him. He shared these visions, not out of pride, but with excitement, as one eager to understand what God was showing him. But his brothers did not rejoice. No, their hearts hardened with jealousy, and they hated him all the more.
Now church, let’s pause right there. Some of us have faced rejection not because we did anything wrong, but because of what God has placed on our lives. Some of us have been cast aside, not because we failed, but because favor attracted opposition. Let me tell you something—just because people don’t recognize the anointing on your life doesn’t mean God has abandoned His plan.
Joseph was rejected, but God’s purpose remained intact. Though his brothers saw his dreams as arrogance, heaven saw them as prophecy. And so, it is with us. People may doubt, dismiss, or even despise what God is doing in our lives, but His word will not return void. What He has spoken over you shall come to pass.
I want to ask you today: Are you holding back your God-given dreams because of fear? Have you allowed rejection to silence your vision? Joseph’s story reminds us that rejection is not the end—it is often the very thing that sets us on the path toward God’s greater plan.
The Word says in Isaiah 46:10, ‘My purpose will stand, and I will do all that I please.’ Church, if God has called you, no enemy can stop you. If God has anointed you, no jealousy can rob you. If God has given you a dream, do not fear the rejection of man—walk boldly, for His plan will prevail!
Let us pray: Father, we thank You for the dreams You have placed in our hearts. When opposition comes, strengthen us to stand firm in faith. May we trust that what You have spoken over our lives will come to pass. In Jesus’ name, Amen.”
