Long ago, in the golden savanna of Ukunda,
There was a story whispered with the wind:
“Inside every creature burns a fire,
But only the brave ones learn to find it.”
Little Simba, the lion cub,
Heard this tale every evening under the baobab tree, where Mama Nyoka would curl around a root and speak of fire - not the kind that burns,
But the kind that builds.
“Fire is the thing you’re meant to do,” she hissed softly.
“But you must look deep. Deeper than claws and growls.”
Simba wanted to find his fire.
1. Master a Skill
Simba noticed he was good at building things from sticks and stones.
While other cubs wrestled and played, Simba stacked and shaped.
He built little huts for ants, wind catchers for fun.
Baba Tembo watched him quietly one day and said,
“When the rains come and shelter is needed, your skill will matter most.”
So, Simba practiced more. Every day. His paws got steady. His huts stood strong.
He became the best builder in the animal village.
2. Learn to Sell
But Kuku said one day, “You build great things, Simba,
But no one knows! You must tell them! Show them!”
So, Simba followed Chui the cheetah to the market. Chui was a master seller.
“Speak from the heart,” said Chui.
“Tell them why you build, not just what you build.”
Simba did.
He showed animals how his huts stayed dry in storms, how his roofs caught wind and cooled the air.
Soon, everyone wanted a Simba hut.
3. Stay Curious
Even when Simba had many customers,
He kept learning - new grasses for roofs, new shapes from beehives, stronger knots from spider silk.
He even listened to the termites.
“Even the smallest builders know secrets,” said Baba Tembo.
4. Own Your Confidence
One day, a great storm came. Animals panicked - homes flew, nests fell.
Simba stood up and roared gently:
“Come. I will help you rebuild.”
No one questioned him. He had mastered his skill. He could sell it with honesty. He had kept learning.
And now, he was ready.
Simba became not just a builder,
But a leader.
That night, under the baobab tree, Mama Nyoka smiled.
“You have found your fire, young lion,” she said.
Simba looked at his paws and nodded.
“But anyone can,” he whispered.
“You just have to find what you love,
Learn how to share it, keep learning more, and believe you were born to lead.”
Kuku clapped her wings.
“I want to find my fire too!”
“And you will,” said Simba.
“One step at a time.”
So young one, ask yourself:
What do you love to do?
Can you become the best at it?
Can you show others its value?
Are you always learning more?
And when it’s time, will you be brave enough to lead?
The fire is already in you. All you have to do… is start.
